Trillium Woods Choir Rocks the Air Canada Centre!

Congratulations to the TWPS choir for their outstanding performance at yesterday's Toronto Marlies game. The choir entertained a sold out crowd of more than 8000 fans during both intermissions on Saturday. Our choir is comprised of dedicated students from grades 1-8 who meet weekly under the leadership of Mrs. Greenspoon and Mrs. Gipp.

This event could not have been made possible without the team of amazing parent and teacher volunteers. Thank you to all who came out to support our school. A huge and special thank you goes out to Mrs. Greenspoon and Mrs. Gipp for their hard work and efforts leading this outstanding group and organizing this once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students.

Winter Play Day-Thursday, February 25.

On Thursday, February 25, students in Kindergarten-Grade 3, will be participating in the Trillium Woods P.S. Winter Play Day

Students in Grades 1-3 will be participating after recess, until lunch time, and Kindergarten students will take part in the activities after lunch, until the end of the day. There will be a combination of both indoor and outdoor activities. Students will be placed on teams for the event, with the goal being to have fun in a non-competitive, team-building environment, focusing on fostering our school’s character traits that we strive to promote every day!

Please ensure your child is wearing appropriate winter outerwear - winter hat, mittens, scarf, snow pants, winter coat and winter boots, and comfortable clothing underneath, for active indoor activities.

We are looking forward to a great day for the students and staff!

Message from our Trustee

Although winter still feels far from over some days, we are now halfway through the school year.  With report cards coming home, this is a good time to review progress and celebrate what your children have learned both inside and outside of the classroom. This is also a good time to set goals for the months ahead.

One of our goals set out in the Board of Trustees’ Multi-Year Plan is to “continuously increase student achievement and well-being through a culture of caring and learning.” Developing this supportive culture includes engaging parents/guardians and other members of the school community in public education and working together to create safe and supportive school environments that enable students to thrive.

As parents/guardians, there are many ways you can get engaged in your child’s education and support their learning, including talking with them about school, communicating with teachers, attending school events or school council meetings, and volunteering in the school. However you get involved, know that you are making a difference.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I wish you all the best an enjoyable and successful second term.
